Idaho’s panhandle counties consist of ten counties, which were once a part of the original Spokane County, Washington Territory prior to the year of 1863. Of these counites, Shoshone, Nez Perce and Idaho counties were the original counties incorporated at the time of the proclamation of the Idaho Territory in March 1863.

The following counties (from north to south) are: Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah, Shoshone, Latah, Clearwater, Nez Perce, Lewis, and Idaho counties. To learn about each county’s communities name-place, simply click on the county’s name on map.
