Idaho’s western counties consist of ten counties, which prior to becoming a territory, Boise County was original organized under the Washington Territory legislature. Once the territory became organized Owyhee County became the first incorporated county of the Idaho Territorial Legislature.

The following counties (from north to south) are: Adams, Valley, Washington, Payette, Gem, Boise, Canyon, Ada, Elmore, and Owyhee counties. To learn about each county’s communities name-place, simply click on the county’s name on map.
