That the following act was approved at the Thirteenth
Session of the Idaho Territorial Legislature:
IDAHO COUNTY -
AN
ACT TO EXEMPT FIREMEN FROM PAYING POLL TAX, AND FROM JURY DUTY
Be
it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Idaho, as
follows:
Section
1. That
all active members regularly enrolled as members of any volunteer fire
company in this Territory, who are citizens of the United States, be a and
are exempt from paying poll tax; and active members shall be exempt from
jury duty as follows: At the
rate of twenty active members for every one thousand inhabitants of the
town or city where such fire company is located.
Section
2. It
shall be the duty of the County Recorder to give certificates of exemption
for one year to those members whom the Chief Engineer of the Department,
or in case there is no Department, the foreman of the company, may
designate, not to exceed the number and rate heretofore provided for in
Section 1.
Section
3. This
act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
