SETTLERS KILLED BY INDIANS

San Francisco, Aug. 20 – A dispatch from Warrens, Idaho Territory, via Walla Walla, dated the 18th inst., says that on the evening of the day previous the ranch of James Raines, on Salmon River, 18 miles from Warrens, was attacked by Indians.  Raines and James Edwards were killed, and Albert Weber was badly wounded.  Seven other settlers escaped and arrived in the town safely.  The Indians burned up all the buildings on the ranch.  The number of the Indians is not stated.  Col. Bernard’s command are hunting Indians 50 miles away in another direction.
