Ferdinand Enterprise January 14, 1916 Sudden Death of Mrs.
Jos. Aschenbrenner Passed Away at 7:30
a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 1916 This community was very much shocked when they learned that Mrs. Joseph Aschenbrenner of this village had died very suddenly at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 1916, after a brief affliction of only the Tuesday night hours’ duration. She ate her supper with a usual relish and apparently was not ill at ease upon retiring. At about ten she complained of feeling quite badly and thereafter the doctor was sent for and remained until morning. She suffered from convulsions and while the doctor was at breakfast, she departed this life. The subject of the above, Josie Frederick Aschenbrenner, was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Frederick, residing about 4 ˝ miles northwest of Ferdinand. She was born at Cornwall, Idaho, April 4, 1894, and was therefore aged 21 years, 9 months and 8 days at the time of her death. Eighteen years ago last July, decendent came with her parents to this section, where she has resided since. She was married to Joseph Aschenbrenner, July 23, 1910, and to this union was born one daughter, Irene, who will be four years old the coming July. Besides her husband and little daughter, she leaves her father and mother, one sister, three brothers, and a host of friends to mourn her sudden and untimely demise; and being just in the prime of womanhood, makes the loss felt the more keener. The funeral will be held in the Advent church, here, this Friday morning at ten 0’clock, the Rev. Thurston is expected to arrive and preside over the last, sad obsequies at the church and at the grave in the Cottonwood cemetery, and whither the body will be laid to its final rest. The Enterprise family joins in with the many friends of the bereaved families in extending most heartfelt condolence, and hope that t he thought of meeting again in the mysterious hereafter, may prove a great comfort to them, in this, their trying hour of sadness and dire loss.
