1984 - Month/day unknown DORIS CHANEY 83, GRANGEVILLE NATIVE Doris Chaney, 83, a native of Grangeville, died of causes related to age Friday morning at Lewiston’s Orchards Villa Nursing Center. She had lived at Boise the last 12 years until coming to Lewiston in November to visit a daughter. She and her late husband, Everett Chaney, farmed near Grangeville from the time of their marriage July 25, 1920, until moving to White Bird in 1936. They operated a ranch there until his death in 1957,. She lived at Lewiston the next five years, then moved to Boise in 1962 She was born at Grangeville July 12, 1901 to Oliver and Nora Chase. She attended the old Sunnyside School north of Grangeville. She and Chaney were married at Grangeville. She became ill while visiting her daughter and only child, Patricia Taylor, at Lewiston late in the fall and was admitted to the nursing home. She was member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Survivors in addition to her daughter include two sisters, Zelma Bowles and Ada Altman, both of Grangeville; a granddaughter and a great grand daughter. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Noland Funeral Chapel at Grangeville with the Rev. Robert Chisim of the Grangeville Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery. The body may be viewed after the service. |
