FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 1888

DIED - Near Grangeville Idaho, February 20, 1888, Bertha Day aged 7 yrs, 10 mos., 14 days.  The child had been ailing w/scarlet fever for several weeks and at one time it was thought that she had recovered , but she took a relapse, and although the struggle between life and death was unusually long and severe, yet the destroying angel had marked her for his own, and thus another family are left to mourn the loss of their only child, the pride of their household and the joy of their life.  the afflicted parents have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
