MRS. HARRY DEAN DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Georgia Violet Dean, 51, passed away Friday April 23, at
General Hospital where she had been a patient for a week. She had been in ailing
health for sometime.
She was born February 22, 1897, near Grangeville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. A. Goan. She was married to Harry Dean on June 10, 1914 at Grangeville. Mr.
Dean followed the profession of construction engineer and while their home has
been here, they have been away numerous times on construction jobs. Two years
ago, Mr. Dean retired, and they have since made their home at Mount Idaho.
In addition to her husband, she leaves one son, Norman Dean, Grangeville; four
sisters, Ellen Lavenhagen, San Francisco; Mrs. Leora Harrington, Kooskia; Mrs.
Ida Earp and Mrs. Ruth Pollan, Grangeville, and one brother, Ralph (Jack) Goan
of Grangeville, three grandchildren survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 24, at two p.m. at the Robertson
Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Harold W. Black officiated at the rites and sang hymns
accompanied by Mrs. Esther Pearson at the organ. Pallbearers were Will Telcher,
Guy Hayes, Adolph Brown, Alfred Moore, Neil Smith and Tom Smith. Burial was in
Prairie View Cemetery.
