MRS. P.E. ELLIS of STITES IS SUMMONED

Mrs. Clara E. Ellis, wife of P.E. Ellis, died Sunday evening at her home in Stites. Mrs. Ellis, who was a teacher in the primary department in the Stites schools, was taken ill on the previous Monday while attending teachers' institute at Moscow. She had sufficiently recovered, however, on Saturday to return to Stites. She suffered a relapse and died the following day.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Elkader, Iowa on Feb. 10, 1872. She had resided in Idaho County about eight years. On June 16, 1915 she was married to P.E. Ellis and had since resided in Stites.
Surviving her are sorrowing husband, a sister, Mrs. Chester Arnold of Grangeville, and two sisters and three brothers in Iowa. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in the Presbyterian Church at Stites, the Rev. J.D. Keith of Lewiston, officiating. The funeral cortege proceeded to Grangeville and interment took place Wednesday afternoon in Prairie View Cemetery.
