AREA MAN DIES IN VA HOSPITAL

Riggins-Ralph (Jack) Goan, 79, died in the Veterans Hospital, Boise, January 14.
The son of William and Katherine Goan, he was born December 9, 1891 at Crook County, Oregon, and came to Idaho before he was a year old. A veteran of World War One, he lived most of his life in and near Mt. Idaho, moving to Kooskia in 1953.
He married Mary Currence July 1, 1964. They moved to Riggins in 1965.
Survivors, besides the widow at the family home are three sisters; Leora Harrington, Kooskia; Ida Earp and Ruth Pollan, both of Grangeville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday at the Riggins Odd Fellows Hall.
Pallbearers for the Ralph E. Goan funeral Monday afternoon were Ray Stowers, Jim Summerville, John VanBrocklin, Scott Barham, Don Waite and Eldon Agee of Kooskia.
