“Tony” Gordon, Pioneer Salmon River Stockman Answers Final Summons

  Oliver O. “Tony” Gordon, 65, pioneer stockman and rancher of the Salmon river, died Tuesday, march 17, at his home at John Day following an illness of a week with flu-pneumonia.

  Mr. Gordon was born in Corvalis Oregon, May 31, 1870 and moved to the Salmon River country about 30 years ago and engaged stock raising.  He was married in 1900.

Surviving are his widow, Catherine and adaughter, Elizabeth at home; two brothers, C.V. Gordon, Lucile and S.S. Gordon, Aromas, California and one sister Mr. M.B. Fox of Tacoma, Washington.

  Funeral services will be held at the home at John Day this afternoon.  Thursday, at 2 o’clock.  Rev. Sydney A. Walker officiating, and burial will be in the John Day Cemetery.  Arrangements are in charge of the Hancock Funeral Home.
