ATTEND LEEPER FUNERAL Bob
Howell of Kooskia motored to Dayton, Washington, Friday, taking Mr. and Mrs.
John Hutchens and son, Bryan, to attend the funeral of Mr. Hutchen’s sister,
Mrs. Esse Leeper. They were also
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Hutchens.
The journey was continued back to Lewiston, where the body was laid to
rest in Normal Hill cemetery. The
sad occasion brought together relatives and friends who had not met for 30

Dies in Washington Stites—Mr.
and Mrs. Stanley Potter, Merlin and Devota, attended funeral services at the
Congregational church in Dayton, Wash., Friday for Mrs. Essie Leeper.
Rev. Logan Peringer officiated. The
body was taken to Lewiston for interment in Normal Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Leeper was well known in this community where she grew to young
womanhood and married Forest Leeper who was cashier of the Bank of Stites. After the bank closed, they moved to Lewiston Orchards.
Mrs. Leeper resided there until six weeks ago when she went to the home
of her daughter, Mrs. H. K. Harris, Thompson Falls, Montana.
She died Wednesday morning of last week after a short illness from heart
trouble at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Thomas, at Dayton, at the age of 63
years. Survivors besides the
daughters already mentioned include six brothers and two sisters, one being Mrs.
Stanley Potter of Stites.
