March 1971 Submitted by Deb Starr Everett Taylor Services Held Riggins - Funeral services for Everett A. (Tim) Taylor, 68, of Riggins, who died early Friday morning at the mcCall Hospital, were conducted at the IOOF Hall Monday at 2 p.m. by Father Thomas Jaudian of Our Lady of the lake Catholic Church, McCall. Interment was in the Riggins Cemetery under direction of Walkers Chapel of McCall. Mrs. Howard Williams sang, accompanied by Mrs. John Shaw. Active pallbearers were Dale Munden, Grangeville, Guy Cash, Nezperce, Andy Hawkins of St. Maries; Wayne Eller of White Bird, Ace Barton and Clarence Hardin. Honorary pallbearers were Dock nail, Jack Brust, Roscoe Smith, Ben Robie, Walt Schleicher, Keith Angleton, Grant Green, Grant Herrick, Miles Rice, jack Fisher, Al Barnett, mark Howard, Ken Twilegar, Dick Sterling, Ben large, Dale Tipton, Cleo Patterson and Mel Smith. He was born September 23, 1903 at White Bird to Frank L. and Mary Taylor, pioneers of the Salmon River area. He attended high school at the Weiser Institute. He married Lorene Hannaford at Clarkston, Wash., June 20, 1931. Except for two years in California, he had lived on Salmon River all his life. He ranched south of White Bird for years. In 1946 he moved to Riggins, where he and Mrs. Taylor owned and operated a cafe, club and motel. He also worked for the Forest Service three years. He was the first mayor of Riggins and a charter member of the Riggins Chamber of commerce. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Joanne) clay, Riggins; two brothers, Lester V. Taylor, Riggins and Evan Mark Taylor, Boise; a sister, Miss Tryphena Taylor, Fairbanks, Alaska; a granddaughter; three grandsons; three nephews, Leon Anscomb, David and Donald Taylor; and two nieces, Debbie Taylor and Emmadean Priestly.
