January 1, 1914 - Idaho County Free Press PIONEER
DIED SUDDENLY J.
W. Webb, an old and respected pioneer of the Gifford section and father of
Deputy Wm. Webb of this city, passed away suddenly Christmas morning.
The deceased, who was a man of seventy some years of age, has been
suffering from heart trouble for some time but of late was feeling better and
seemed to be in the best of health before retiring.
He was found dead in bed Christmas morning, the result of his old
complaint. Mr. Webb, who was
born in Missouri, came west a number of years ago and was a man well liked by
all who knew him. He served with
distinction on the southern side during the civil war.
Surviving him are five sons, a daughter and a widow.
The funeral was held at Gifford December 27 and was conducted by the
Masonic lodge of which he was a member. Submitted by Chris Cornett BACK |
