DIED - In Grangeville Idaho, March 12, 1888, Ralph E. Wood, aged 13yrs.  Our little village has been sad so long, and the shadow of the dark wing das hovered so determinedly over this household that it seemed another grief would be too much.  "Truly says the proverb:  The heart knowist its own bitterness" Ralph suffered greatly and his death came as a blessed relief from pain.  He was first attacked with that dread disease scarlet fever and the havoc it wroughts in his system led up to paralysis, so that he was unable to move or speak.  The robust boy when we all knew so well wasted away to a shadow and on Sunday afternoon the end came and on Monday he was taken to the cemetery on the hill where loving hands laid him to sleep by the side of his sister, who preceded him to the better land 4 weeks since.  to the doubly stricken and bereaved family we all unite in saying we weep with you, we mourn with you, we hope with you.
