Abraham Shira died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Blankinship near Roseberry on Thursday March 26th 1908, age 83 years, 7 months and twenty eight days.
His wife preceded him to the grave three years ago. Mr. Shira was born in Stark Co. Ohio, August 28th 1825. Four children survive him, George M. Who resides in Missouri, John H. a resident of Kansas, Mrs. S. W. Marshall of Nez Perce and Mrs. W. I. Blankinship of Roseberry, besides nineteen grandchildren.
Mr. Shira moved to Long Valley in June 1888, and up until his death has resided at Roseberry excepting four years that he spent at Moscow Idaho. He was a member of the Dunkard Church for fifty one years. Funeral services were conducted at the home of W. J. Blankinship Friday March 27 at 1 o'clock by Rev. E. E. Auxier.
The funerl was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. The remains were buried in the Holms cemetary.
