Roger Scott Likins, 59, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Heikkila Funeral Chapel, McCall.
He was born March 16, 1952 in Chula Vista, Calif., to Alton and Neva Lee Likins, the second of four children. He attended school in Chula Vista, graduating from Hilltop High School in 1970.
Roger enlisted in the Army in 1971 He received Basic Training in Texas and was then sent to the Defense Language Institute at Fort Ord, Calif., where he learned Spanish. The remainder of his time in the Army was spent in Panama as an Army Interpreter.
Roger returned to the San Diego area where he met his wife Marcia. They married Jan. 15, 1979. They had three children: Daniel born May 10, 1982, Sarah born May 31, 1984, and Rachel born Sept 9, 1989.
The family moved to McCall in 1996 where they raised their family. The children all attended local schools. Roger had recently opened his own business in Riggins, a dream of his for many years.
Roger is survived by his wife, Marcia O. Likins, daughters Sarah and Rachel; brothers Michael (Brooks) and Hunter; sister Nancy (Paul) Masten, all of California, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Neva Likins, and a son, Daniel Owen Likins.
