Joyce Eileen McFadden, 64, of McCall, wife of Lewis “Lewie” W. McFadden, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011 at the Church of the Nazarene in McCall under the direction of the Heikkila Funeral Chapel.
She was born Sept. 19, 1946 to Malcolm and Edith Petersen in Camp Stoneman, Calif.
Joyce’s preschool years were spent in the mining towns of Warren, Stibnite and Cinnabar. She attended first grade at Sweet and then moved permanently to McCall where her dad was employed by Brown Tie & Lumber.
She graduated from McCall-Donnelly High School in 1964. On June 5, 1964 she married Lewis W. McFadden. They were happily married for 47 years.
She worked for Idaho First National Bank and Dr. P.V. Hakes. In 1977 Joyce and Lewis opened their Country Crafts store in McCall. They operated this business until 1996.
She later returned to work for Dr. Hakes and then McCall Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and tole painting. She loved her family, friends, flowers, bird watching and her church family.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband Lewis “Lewie” W. McFadden; sons Rob (Kim) McFadden of McCall, Jeff (Mary Jean) McFadden of Cascade, Scott (Shannon) McFadden of McCall, grandchildren Shane of Donnelly, Andrea of Donnelly, Sylvia of Boise, Jayda of McCall and Emerie, a great granddaughter, on the way. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Malcolm and Edith Petersen, brother Jim Petersen and sister Carol Petersen.
