Sharon Jessie, 61, peacefully passed away Sunday morning March 6, 2011 at her home in McCall.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, when the weather warms and her beloved flowers begin to bloom.
She was born Sharon Jessie Rouse on June 5, 1949, in South San Francisco, Calif., to David George and Mildred Grace Rouse and grew up close to her birthplace.
With three sisters by her side she attended South San Francisco High where she was a majorette and met some of her longest friends.
She was a true flower child of the 1960s. Sharon lived and loved the life in San Francisco and Los Angeles during the heyday of now classic rock music and hippie culture until meeting the father of her boys, Adam and Jesse.
Aside from taking the boys to many concerts, she also exposed them to fishing and the outdoor life in California where they enjoyed constant exploration.
Mom also created her own career path by becoming a professional dog groomer. After dog grooming she pursued her other passion in floral design.
In 1996, the family moved to Donnelly from the S.F. area to enjoy wild Idaho as heralded by her high school friend, Renee Welch. While here Sharon groomed many valley pets for years at the Donnelly Vet Clinic and for some time the plant section at Paul’s Market thrived under her green thumb too.
Her creative energies also took the form of collage and many other crafts. She adored all animals and many local pets enjoyed Sharon’s affections and treats.
Some family, many friends and local kids she helped care for are survived by Sharon and her infectious positive spirit will no doubt persist in each one’s recollections.
Thank you to all who knew her. Thank you for giving her meaning and purpose in the last 14 years here in Idaho. Thank you to her friends, and also to Toby, her most recent best friend next door.
Sharon is survived locally by two sons, Adam and Jesse Prazenica, Jesse’s wife, Elaine, and by her sisters and other relatives in California.
Her great joy was in family, children, caring for her friend’s kids and watching those kids grow into exceptional people.
Sharon’s raucous laugh was infectious and recognizable to all within earshot, and will certainly be missed.
Donations can be made in her name to MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter, and condolences may be sent to the Prazenicas at P.O. Box 1567, McCall, ID 83638.
