Bill was born in Walla Walla, Wash., on December 20, 1947, to William and Mollie Schiffman. He was raised on a ranch in Touche, Wash., where he developed a love for the outdoors.

Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He loved to cowboy and the cowboy ways, fly fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and many good friends. Bill was a very gentle and caring soul who will be missed terribly by all who knew him.

He graduated high school in Riggins in 1966. Bill worked for the Forest Service during summers while attending five years of college at Boise Junior College, now Boise State University. He majored in geology.

Bill and Sandy lived and raised their children in Kuna, then moved to Nampa before retiring and moving to New Meadows to live in the mountains he loved.

Bill retired from Consolidated Freightways after 30 years. During retirement, he and his wife opened an antique store and espresso shop where he enjoyed meeting people and making many new friends. Some of his friends in New Meadows viewed their shop as the hub of New Meadows’ community spirit and social life.

The family would like to thank all their friends for their support while he battled MSA. Their support is greatly appreciated. The family would also like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s Hospice Care in McCall for their attentive care.
