Troy “Todd” Whipkey, 42, of Boise, died on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Ave., Boise.
Todd was born on May 3, 1968, in Boise to Mary Melville and Robert E. Whipkey, their only son.
He attended grade school in Pocatello and Eugene, Ore., junior high at McCall-Donnelly, and high school in Boise at Bishop Kelly and graduated from Borah High School. He was also a graduate of Boise State University.
He was a competitive roller skater and free-style skater, and an expert snow skier and water skier. He loved nature and the outdoors. His favorite place was McCall!
Todd was a family man and a good friend to all. He loved people and people loved him. He will be greatly missed by all!
Todd is survived by his mother, Mary M. Munns of Boise; and father, Robert E. Whipkey of Hagerman; stepfather, Glenn Frank of Eugene, Ore.; aunt, Patricia A. Whipkey, Boise; fiancee, Shannon Fontentot; and his children, Eric Whipkey, 19, Ryan Whipkey, 17, Cayden Whipkey, 9, and Tori Whipkey, 15.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bob and Wanda Whipkey of Boise, and maternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Melville.
