Betty Lee Roy Bingman, 77, of Cascade, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 26, 2012.
Betty did not wish to have a funeral or memorial service, but wanted her ashes scattered in her favorite huckleberry patch.
Cremation services were performed by Bowman Funeral Parlor in Garden City.
Betty was born in Boise to Vern and Grace Jewell. As a young woman, Betty enjoyed taking dance lessons and helping on her grandmother’s small farm in Eagle.
Betty was in the last class to graduate from the old Eagle High School, and on June 12, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart James L. Bingman.
Jim and Betty started their family the next year. Betty was soon very busy being a wonderful mother and homemaker for their five children.
When Jim inherited a cattle ranch in Cascade, Betty followed the love of her life to the mountains and meadows along Clear Creek where she helped with all the chores including milking, feeding, branding, fencing and haying.
Betty also volunteered in the community, especially when their children were involved. She was active in Cascade Community Church, Alpha Grange, 4-H, Red Cross blood drives and local elections. Once the children moved away, Jim and Betty started their own small business selling scones and Indian tacos at local fairs and events from a concessions trailer.
Later they sold homemade bread, bean, and soup mixes at holiday shows around the state, as well as online. Betty was famous for her huckleberry jam.
Betty was a cancer survivor and died peacefully at home while surrounded by members of her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, her mother in-law and father in-law, and her brother in-law Dennis.
She is survived by her husband Jim, their children Cheri (Tom) Gordon, Jan Hon, Jim (Dee) Bingman, Mark (Pat) Bingman, Brenda (Steve) Raiser, their sister Dora VanDyke, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
