Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Meadows Valley Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Kahili Club in New Meadows.
Glen was born on July 22, 1930 in McCall, to Nolan and Lola Deasy. He was raised in and around the Burgdorf area later moving to Riggins.
Glen met the love of his life, Nora White, in New Meadows and they were married on June 4, 1949. Glen and Nora continued living in New Meadows while they raised their three children, Sandy, Mike and Doug.
He was employed by several sawmills from Tamarack to White Bird until he launched his logging operation, Deasy Logging Company, in the early 1960s.
In 1998, they moved to their retirement home on an acreage overlooking the Big Salmon River near the Twin Bridges just south of White Bird. Glen called it “my little piece of Heaven.”
Glen loved his life in the great outdoors. One would often find Glen at the track racing cars in the late 1940s and early 1950s. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Glen owned and operated another business adventure, selling snowmobiles in Meadows Valley where he was known to enter a race or two himself.
Glen spent many days hunting and fishing, but trapping was his passion.
Glen is survived by his wife, Nora, three children, Sandy Dixon (Lee), Mike Deasy (Jody), Doug Deasy (Tami), his brother, Donald Deasy (Marilyn), his sister, Myrna Medley (Don), nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
