Virginia (Jeanne) Alberta Griffiths, 78, of Donnelly, passed away at home on May 30, 2012, doing what she loved, working in her yard, beside her husband.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2012, at the Donnelly Bible Church on FW Gestrin Road.
Jeanne attended school in Boise. She married Ernie Birkinbine in 1950 and together they had five children.
She married Fred Griffiths on Feb. 6, 1964. Together they spent the last 48 years working hard, raising their children and living life to its fullest.
She was an avid bowler and was even able to travel to Hawaii and bowl with Earl Anthony and Mark Roth.
Jeanne and Fred were snowbirds for 14 years, traveling to Arizona, Rocky Point, Los Algodones, Mexico, the Black Hills, and Palm Springs. She also loved fishing and they spent many weeks with family and friends at Hells Canyon Park steelhead fishing.
Her passion for her flower garden, her zest for life, her unconditional love for her husband and children, and a good game of golf will be her gifts to anyone who has ever had the pleasure of knowing her.
Jeanne was preceded in death by both her parents, and her brother, Frank Pierce.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Fred; her sister Eleanora (Ricky) Rodgers of Twin Falls; her daughter Jeanne Carol (J.C) Gunn of Boise; her sons David (Peggy) Birkinbine of Boise, Randy Birkinbine of Boise, Steve Birkinbine of Star, and Michael (Rene) Birkinbine of Donnelly; her stepchildren Randy, Monte, Gerry, and Irene, 17 grandchildren and numerous great grand children.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Luke’s McCall Foundation in memory of Jeanne Griffiths for the Infusion program.
