BENOY, LUPER
posted by Deborah Jensen on Sunday, May 31,

I am interested in obtaining information about Mr. Thomas Benoy who lived
in Idaho County, Sleter Precinct, in 1920 with his wife, Jane and stepson,
F. L. Luper. Thomas was employed as a blacksmith. In the 1920's Thomas
was murdered by his wife. I would like to see if anyone in your County
is aware of this and if there are any newspaper articles concerning this
event. I do not, unfortunately, know when in the 20's this happened. I
am starting to research this so my information is limited.

Looking for information on Beecher CLOUSER (may also be known as Nelson
Beecher CLOUSER). He was born in Champaign Co., IL about 1859, son of David
CLOUSER and Mary E. TOY. Mary is believed to have died in childbirth. Beecher
was in Montgomery Co., IN in 1880. He is believed to have gone to Grangeville,
Idaho before 1900. After that the family lost track of him.

Logan "Carson" Moffitt was married to my aunt Amy Landru. She was a school
teacher in Forest Idaho around the end of WWI. Logan hung himself in the
barn around 1918. he was born oct 14, 1880 and was on the military lists
in that area. I believe the county was called Lewis at that time any help
you can be will again be greatly appreciated. I want to send for his obituary.
My Aunt Amy had supposedly helped to get some water rights for the Nez
Perce but have had no luck in finding the treaty. She was supposedly representing
them in Washington DC. When she came back successfully, the Chief (Joseph)
Old gave her a furnished home he built to show his gratitude. That's how
the story goes would love to prove that one but right now just would be
happy to get Moffitt's death date around 1918.

RIGGINS, ROBY
posted by Jann Rogers on Friday, July 10, 1998

My GG Grandmother (Elenor Serena) was first married to a Riggins in Missouri
and had three children: Andrew, George, and Nancy. Family history states
that this first husband was John, who later had the well documented Richard
L Riggins.(John moved from Missouri to Idaho county in 1863. Elenor is
found in Salem, Oregon in 1853 and married my GG Grandfather, Thomas Reason
ROBY in that year. Elenor was divorced Reason in 1877 and is found in Mt.
Idaho in 1880 with her son, George Riggins. From my research, I believe
that Elenor's first husband probably is not John...perhaps another Riggins
brother...maybe Fred. My query is: who is the first husband of Elenor and
the father of George, Andrew, and Nancy?

My name is Gary Patterson from Middlebourne, WV and I need HELP. I am looking
for any information on Oscar ANDREWS. The only information that I have
is that he was born in WV in probably 1860's or 1870's. My Mother told
me that we went to Idaho (I don't know when) and Homesteaded some land
near Gifford on which he raised navy beans. She thinks that he had 2 sons
and 1 daughter. She could not remember his Wife's name. I know that this
is not very much to go on, but if you can be of any help I will be very
grateful. Thanks in advance...Gary

I am looking for death/burial information for George MYERS/MOYERS d. abt.
1904 and Sarah (Bisbee) MYERS/MOYERS abt. 1906. Family records indicate
they were buried at Grangeville. Family records also indicate their name
as MYERS but there is strong evidence that their name was actually MOYERS.
Any help or advice as to where I might obtain some information would be
greatly appreciated. Thank You

My father has traced his family back to Frank Brown and George Farrens
but would like to know more about any of their family that may have lived
in Idaho county or the surrounding counties. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. The last that these people were listed on the census was in
1910.

Recently determined my husband's g-grandmother, Della (KNIGHT) PALMER,
died in Kamiah 25 May 1917, and was buried in the Woodland Cemetery near
Harrisburg. Her obituary lists her as the "wife of the auctioneer", Almon
L. PALMER. At the time of Della's death, her mother was still alive. Would
love to know more about the KNIGHT family and anything possible about Della
and Almon while they lived in Idaho County.
